A Monsoon Minute :)

Our lecture was supposed to start at 7.30 am but as it was our 1st lecture this early we were given concession of 10 minutes. It WAS 7.30 am. So for a change, I entered the classroom 10 minutes before the lecture time just to find few people spread across the class (sorry for sounding it like "across the globe" ! ). Some listening to music, few completing their notebooks ( I'm in degree college and you will be pleased to know that these species still exist ! ) others gossiping. So as I walked through the benches I found that all the umbrellas were kept on the floor for drying (that's when I noticed I was drenched in rain ). Dodging all those umbrellas, I made my way towards the seat. Unsure as to what should be done to pass those 5-10 minutes, I started reading my notes ( in reality I just kept staring at the words wondering what was wrong with my handwriting that day !! ).
Finally ma'am entered the classroom and hardly 3 students wished her 'good morning' as if they were groaning for waking them up this early. Ignoring them, Ma'am replied back wholeheartedly. So the class of Contemporary World started with the topic of Security Pacts. The confused look on student's face hearing the Pact's names as well as country's ( some gave a look as if they were tongue twisters.. Probably Czechoslovakia !! ) was worth watching. Noticing all the reactions, Ma'am decided to dictate us rather than going into the depth of that dry topic. For few minutes everything was fine. The climate was cool because of rains. Dictation was going on with pin-drop silence. Suddenly Ma'am stopped the dictation all of a sudden and the reason was that she was distracted due to the rains and the resultant beautiful view of the chowpatty that was created ! She gave us a minute to stare at the heavenly showers. It was truly rejuvenating ! The horizon blurred and so did our worries. There was no difference between the shade of the sky and the sea. Maybe that's what they call picturesque view.
I couldn't help remembering the lines by William Henry Davies which I read on the very first page of my 10th standard English textbook which said -

"What is this life if, full of care,

We have no time to stand and stare."

Soon our Monsoon Minute ended with a big smile on everyone's face.
